My name is María Poveda Villalón and I work as a PostDoc resercher at the Ontology Engineering Group, at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, in Spain.
My research activities are focused on Ontological Engineering and Semantic Web. More precisely, I am interested in the areas of Knowledge Modelling (including conceptualization, formalization and implementation), Ontology Evaluation, and Ontology Design Patterns. Also, I am currently working in Linked Data modelling, generation and exploitation. In the resume section there is more information about my activities.
This blog’s purpose is to informally talk a bit about ontology development techniques and tools, events in which I might get involve, somehow, or that I am interested in.
Hi Maria,
may I ask your advice?
I want to add individuals to a class which represent projects. But these individuals could also be classes, as their real instantiations are in several sub projects. I understand that the OWL specification allows this, but I am not sure if this is an optimal solution.
Example
Research projects
Labour survey
Labour survey 2010
Labour survey 2015
Housing survey
Housing survey 2015
Housing survey 2016
It is allowed in OWL 2 https://www.w3.org/TR/owl2-new-features/#F12:_Punning however I tend to try to not to use the same URI as 2 OWL elements.
